BP extends North Sea service contract with Subsea 7

BP has extended its contract with Subsea 7 for offshore subsea construction, inspection, repair, and maintenance in the North Sea.

LONDON –BP has extended its contract with Subsea 7 for offshore subsea construction, inspection, repair, and maintenance in the North Sea. The contract runs until 2017 and is valued at $300 million.

Subsea 7 will deploy the multi-purpose support vesselSubsea Vikingto provide extensive support services primarily for BP’s operations in the Foinaven and Schiehallion fields, west of Shetland, as well as for BP assets elsewhere in the North Sea.

Work will be managed from Subsea 7’s Centre of Excellence in Aberdeen.

“We are continuing to invest heavily in our core North Sea assets and local contractors in the northeast of Scotland are playing a vital role supporting this strategy,” said Trevor Garlick, regional president BP North Sea. “We look forward to continuing to work with Subsea 7 in safely maintaining our existing and new subsea infrastructure.”
