OSLO, Norway – Oil services provider Aker Solutions will acquire Canadian asset integrity management (AIM) company Thrum Energy, beefing up Aker’s AIM portfolio and increasing the company’s presence in the Atlantic Canada market.

Thrum, based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, provides services to both onshore and offshore assets in Canada, Aker said in a release. The company did not disclose the financial terms of the acquisition, which is expected to close in 4Q 2012.

“This is an important acquisition both for our AIM business, which we want to grow significantly over the coming years, and for our ability to meet customer expectations in Canada,” said Tore Sjursen, Aker’s head of maintenance, modifications and operations.
