Wärtsilä to power deepwater drillships for Brazil

Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd. has contracted Wärtsilä to supply main generating engines and thrusters for six new deepwater drillships to be built at Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz in Brazil.

HELSINKI, Finland – Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd. has contracted Wärtsilä to supply main generating engines and thrusters for six new deepwater drillships to be built at Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz in Brazil.

Each of the ships will be powered by 16-cylinder Wärtsilä 32 main generating sets and FS3510/NU underwater de-mountable thrusters. The first deliveries are scheduled for 2013. The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2Q 2015.

The Jurong Aracruz shipyard will build the vessels for Sete Brasil.
