Statoil orders subsea trees from Aker for Visund field in the North Sea

Statoil has ordered five subsea trees and 11 control modules from Aker Solutions for Visund field on the Norwegian continental shelf for NOK 300 million ($52.6 million).

LYSAKER, Norway –Statoil has ordered five subsea trees and 11 control modules from Aker Solutions for Visund field on the Norwegian continental shelf for NOK 300 million ($52.6 million).

The agreement is a call-off from an existing frame agreement and also includes the option of four added subsea tree systems.

TheVisund trees will be manufactured at Aker Solutions’ facility in Tranby, Norway, while the control modules will be manufactured at Aberdeen in the UK.

Visund is an oil and gas field located 22 km (14 mi) northeast of the Gullfaks field in the Tampen area of the Norwegian North Sea. The field came onstream in 1999.
