Statoil extends Bideford Dolphin drilling contract

Dolphin Drilling AS has entered into a letter of award with Statoil for a three-year extension of the drilling contract for the semisubmersible Bideford Dolphin.

OSLO, Norway – Dolphin Drilling AS has entered into a letter of award with Statoil for a three-year extension of the drilling contract for the semisubmersible Bideford Dolphin.

The rig will be used for production drilling on theTordis, Vigdis, and Statfjord fields in the Norwegian North Sea.

The estimated value for the fixed extension period is about $520 million. An option exists for a further two-year contract extension.
