ROV survey under way for UAE-Qatar pipelines

CCC (Underwater Engineering) has been performing ROV pipeline inspection operations on three shallow-water pipelines between the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, with a cumulative survey distance of more than 500 km (310 mi).

ABU DHABI, UAE – CCC (Underwater Engineering) has been performing ROV pipeline inspection operations on three shallow-water pipelines between the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, with a cumulative survey distance of more than 500 km (310 mi).

The company deployed a Seaeye Panther-XT Plus 955 ROV system for the project. Before year-end the company also expects to take delivery of a 2,000-m (6,562-ft) depth rated Seaeye Cougar XTi ROV system.

Earlier this year CCC was awarded a pipeline stabilization project offshore Saudi Arabia, calling for installation of more than 700 grout bags on four existing subsea pipelines. The work was due to be performed using the DP-2 vesselCCC Pioneer and CCC-owned equipment/resources.

Other new awards this year include an ROV/diver inspection and pipeline remedial work project offshore Qatar. This called for inspection of numerous pipelines and platforms in addition to existing pipeline crossing remedial operations, using theCCC Pioneer and ULO jackup bags.

Another project off Saudi Arabia involved installation of numerous J-tubes and all related works for the additional power feeders to the offshore facilities, in addition to mattress installation at crossing locations.
