Offshore staff
BANGKOK, Thailand –Mermaid Maritime Public Co. Ltd. and a joint-venture partner have secured a long-term contract for offshore inspection, repair, and maintenance services. Mermaid will provide diving services including use of a DP-2 support vessel and ROVs.
The $530-million contract is for a duration of five years with a two-year option.
Mermaid’s associated company Asia Offshore Drilling Ltd. has contracted its jackup drilling rigAOR-1for three years plus a one-year option. The rig is under construction by Keppel FELS Ltd. in Singapore with scheduled delivery in March 2013. The drilling contract is scheduled to begin in June 2013.
Seadrill Ltd. will manage the rig on behalf of AOD. The client company is not named.
