GSP rig ready to spud well offshore Romania

GSP Offshore’s jackup Jupiter has mobilized to the Romanian sector of the Black Sea after completing a drilling program for TPAO in Turkish waters.

CONSTANTA, Romania – GSP Offshore’s jackup Jupiterhas mobilized to the Romanian sector of the Black Sea after completing a drilling program for TPAO in Turkish waters.

The cantilever-type, self-elevating unit will provide drilling services to Midia Resources for one exploratory well each on theIoana and Eugenia prospects in offshore blocks XV Midia and XIII Pelican.

Currently, the rig is in position and preparing to spud the Ioana well in a water depth of 90 m (295 ft). Rig move and positioning operations were supported by the vesselsGSP Vega and GSPOrion.

GSP previously provided drilling services for the Doina and Ana wells in the southern Midia block.
