Aramco finds gas offshore Saudi Arabia in Red Sea

Saudi Aramco has discovered a new feasible gas field in the Red Sea, according to Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, the Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia --Saudi Aramco has discovered a new feasible gas field in the Red Sea, according to Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, the Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

A test of the Al-Shoor well, northwest of Dhuba port, flowed 10 MMcf/d of gas from 17,700 ft. (5,395 m), and 5.2 MMcf/d from another test at a depth of 17,275 ft. (5,265 m).

Aramco will continue to evaluate potential volumes through further drilling on the field, the minister added.
