AETI to supply power delivery system for platform offshore China

American Electric Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:AETI) will supply power delivery systems to Energy Development Corp. (China) Inc. for an offshore production platform project in the South China Sea.

HOUSTON –American Electric Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:AETI) will supply power delivery systems to Energy Development Corp. (China) Inc. for an offshore production platform project in the South China Sea.

Contract terms were not disclosed, but AETI expects to ship the project in 2Q 2013.

AETI’s M&I Electric group will supply a 110-ton offshore power control building that will contain medium voltage and low voltage power distribution switchgear, along with motor control centers, heating and variable AC, fire and gas detection, and battery backup systems for the platform. The equipment will be integrated and tested at M&I’s Beaumont, Texas, manufacturing plant before transfer by ocean freight for eventual deployment in the CDX field of the Bohai Bay region.

Energy Development is a subsidiary of Noble Energy Inc. and Sinopec Beijing Dheng Dao Xi. Noble holds 57% and its partner the remaining 43%.
