HOUSTON –TAM International has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new manufacturing facility to be built in Houston. The expansion is to support production of large-diameter offshore products as well as existing TAM swellable and inflatable packers.

The new facility will have 126,000 sq ft of manufacturing space, 17,000 sq ft of offices, and house as many as 300 employees. The new facility could lead to the hiring of as many as 150 new employees.

“The new facility will have twice the square footage for manufacturing and three times the production capacity,” said David Gray, director, global business development. “We are particularly interested in manufacturing larger packers for use in deeper waters offshore, including packers more than 40-ft long and 26 in. in diameter.”
