STAVANGER, Norway --Statoil has contracted Aker Solutions to provide further subsea well equipment for the Troll field in the Norwegian North Sea.

The $44-million consignment comprises three subsea trees, tubing hangers to be used onoil-producing areas of the field, and a tool package.

The extension is a call-off from a contract Aker signed with Statoil in February.

Earlier this year, Aker announced a NOK 500 million-($87.7 million) investment to double capacity of its subsea equipment manufacturing plants in Port Klang and Tranby, Norway.
