NIOOC plans new round of developments offshore Iran

National Iranian Offshore Oil Co. (NIOOC) is nearing the award of new project contracts with a total value of $14 billion.

TEHRAN, Iran – National Iranian Offshore Oil Co. (NIOOC) is nearing the award of new project contracts with a total value of $14 billion.

According to Managing Director Mahmoud Zirakchianzadeh, speaking to news service Shana, these are for theoffshore Farzad A, Farzad B, Soroush, Esfandiar, Tosan, and Alfa fields.

Petropars has been assigned development of Farzad B, and has started 3D seismic operations.

Zirakchianzadeh added that theSehar-1 drilling rig was at work on the Farzad A location.

Khatam-ol-Osia will work on the Tosan and Alfa field projects, performing basic studies for the development plans, and providing advice on technical and financial aspects.
