Kazakhstan to build its first jackup

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Teniz Burgylau LLP has contracted a newbuild jackup to work in the Caspian Sea.

This will be the first jackup built in Kazakhstan, and will be fabricated, outfitted, and commissioned by Saipem’s jointly controlled Ersai Caspian Contractor LLC and Keppel Kazakhstan LLP.

TheKeppel FELS B Class rig will be able to drilling in up to 260 ft (79 m) of water and to a subsurface depth of up to 20,000 ft (6,096 m).

Final assembly and commissioning will be at the Ersai Kuryk yard, with delivery scheduled for 1Q 2015.
