Drydocks World completes Swire anchor handler

Offshore staff

DUBAI, UAE – Drydocks World has launched an anchor handling tug supply vessel built at its Singapore facility in Tuas basin for Swire Pacific Offshore.

The ABS-classed vessel, designed by Havyard Design, can accommodate 37 personnel. It has a bollard pull of more than 200 metric tons (220 tons), and is powered by four engines combined with an azimuth thruster and four tunnel thrusters.

Other equipment includes a main towing winch and secondary winches with an anchor recovery frame.

In Dubai, Drydocks World is establishing a dedicated service point for ABB Turbochargers. The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding at the recent SMM exhibition in Hamburg, and will sign a service agreement next month.

This move aims to ensure timely turbocharger service to customers and provision of one-stop ABB turbocharger solutions in Dubai.

Additionally, ABB Turbocharging Dubai will supply international factory warranties to all service jobs performed at Drydocks World, including dedicated machines and engineers at a workstation within the shipyard facility.

More than 100 ABB service stations worldwide will also provide assistance to Drydocks World if required for its projects elsewhere.
