BSEE ends offshore US GoM Isaac effects monitoring

With less than 1% of all US Gulf of Mexico production platforms not yet re-manned and all but one drilling rig operating, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Hurricane Response Team has ended its coverage of Isaac.

NEW ORLEANS –With less than 1% of all US Gulf of Mexico production platforms not yet re-manned and all but one drilling rig operating, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Hurricane Response Team has ended its coverage of Isaac.

From operator reports, it is estimated that 4.16% of the daily oil production in the Gulf of Mexico is shut-in, as is 4.73% of the current daily natural gas production.

Offshore oil and gas facilities are being inspected. Once all standard checks have been completed, production from undamaged facilities will be brought back online immediately.
