ABERDEEN, UK – Premier Oil has awarded consultancy ADIL a $24-million contract for continued assistance with the execution phase of the Solan project west of Shetland.

Over the past 20 months, ADIL has been involved in the development phase, providing personnel and systems to complement the work of previous operator Chrysaor. Premier took over operatorship in January, and won approval in April from the UK government for its development plan.

Solan is due to deliver first oil late in 2014, at an initial rate of 24,000 b/d.

ADIL’s contract extension runs until field start-up. The company will provide project management support to Premier and personnel to manage the construction and execution phases, including the offshore fixed production facility that BiFab is building in Methil, eastern Scotland, and the 300,000-bbl subsea storage tank to be fabricated overseas.
