Sembcorp to build five more drillships for Sete Brasil

SINGAPORE -- Sembcorp Marine Ltd. has secured $4.032 billion in contracts from Sete Brasil Participacoes S.A. to design and construct five drillships based on Jurong Shipyard’s proprietary Jurong Espadon drillship design.

Each drillship will have DP-3 and capabilities to operate in 10,000 ft (3,048 m) water depth and drill to 40,000 ft (12,192 m).

Scheduled for deliveries between 2Q 2015 to 2Q 2019.

This is in addition to Sembcorp Marine’s agreement its wholly owned Brazilian shipyard Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz Ltda would design and construct for $792.5 million a drillship with Guarapari Drilling B.V., Netherlands, a subsidiary of Sete Brasil.
