Pump designs modified for Zakum overhaul

Offshore staff

ABU DHABI, UAE – NPCC has ordered topsides pump equipment from Amarinth for use on the offshore Zakum development project.

Amarinth will supply API 610 A and C series pumps to the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Co. (ADMA-OPCO) for the Zakum Central Super Complex (ZCSC) demothballing project. This is designed to increase oil production capacity from the Zakum field from 2012 onward.

The pumps, manufactured in super-duplex and stainless steel, have undergone various design changes to suit the project requirements. These include base plates to fit the platform’s existing layout, and modifications to existing casing designs to accommodate higher maximum allowable working pressures.
