Offshore staff
HONG KONG – CNOOC (NYSE:CEO; SEHK:00883) has scored two new oil discoveries offshore China.
Luda 6-2 is inLiaodong Bay in the Bohai region in a water depth of 31 m (102 ft). This year the company has successfully drilled the Luda 6-2-4 and Luda 6-2-5 wells, encountering oil play zones respectively 40 m (131 ft) and 147.6 m (484 ft) thick.
The other find, Lufeng 15-1-2, was drilled in the Pearl River Mouth basin in a water depth of 283 m (928 ft). It encountered 26.8 m (88 ft) thick oil pay zones and tested at about 800 b/d.
