Bentley well test in North Sea meeting targets

Offshore staff

BANCHORY, UK – Xcite Energy has updated the pre-production flow test at its Bentley heavy oil field in the UK northern North Sea.

Following planned equipment maintenance, offtake procedure testing, and optimization of process equipment, the 9/03b-7 well has been producing at 3,200 b/d with no associated basic sediments or water. Crude collected to date by the Scott Spirit tanker amounts to more than 47,000 bbl of dry oil.

Early data from downhole pressure and temperature responses suggests the underlying aquifer support is strong and consistent, a good indicator for the reservoir’s longer-term productivity.

The test program will continue in order to determine reservoir fluid behavior, and to compile data to assist in optimization of ultimate life-of-field performance.
