Offshore staff

PARIS – Marathon Oil Norge has contracted Technip (PARIS:TEC) to assist the ongoing expansion of subsea drill centers at the Kneler B and Volund fields in the Norwegian North Sea.

Both are tiebacks to the Alvheim FPSO. Water depth in the area is about 120 m (394 ft).

Technip’s scope, which involves use of divers and ROVs, includes engineering, fabrication, installation, and diving tie-ins of pipeline spools, protection covers, and a manifold installation.

The company’s operating center in Stavanger will perform the work, with offshore construction running into 2013. The DSV Skandi Arctic will be used for the campaign.
