Saipem wins Nigeria, Cabinda offshore construction assignments

Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. (CABGOC) has awarded Petromar two contracts for development of the southern part of the Mafumeira field in block O, 30 km (18.6 mi) offshore Angola.

MILAN, Italy – Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. (CABGOC) has awarded Petromar two contracts for development of the southern part of the Mafumeira field in block O, 30 km (18.6 mi) offshore Angola.

The Mafumeira Sul EPCI 3 scope of work covers engineering, procurement, and pre-fabrication for subsequent offshore modifications and tie-ins on the existing Mafumeira Norte platform and the futureMafumeira Sul production platforms.

Mafumeira Sul EPCI 4 covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of an onshore pipeline connecting the field to oil storage and export facilities at the Malongo Terminal.

Marine activities will be performed in stages between 4Q 2013 and 2Q 2015. Petromar is jointly controlled by Saipem.

Offshore southeastern Nigeria, Saipem has a new contract from Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited for the ASASA Pressure Maintenance project, and another from Aveon Offshore for the Usari FA-FR Risers and Edop Pipeline Extension projects.

Work includes fabrication and installation of pipelines in diameters ranging from 12-14-in. (30.5-35.5 cm) and of risers and subsea spools in the Asasa, Usari, and Edop fields.

All the fields are offshore Akwa Ibom state, in a maximum water depth of 50 m (164 ft). Saipem will perform marine activities using the derrick/lay bargeS355.
