LIVERPOOL, UK – GAC Shipping UK has completed installation of EOG Resources’ Conwy platform off the Merseyside coast in northwest England.

HSM Offshore built the jacket and topsides in Schiedam, the Netherlands, each weigh more than 700 metric tons (771 tons).

The company contracted GAC’s Liverpool office to provide construction and hook-up support services, including tow-out to the field. Due to bad weather in the Netherlands, the journey took two and a half weeks, resulting in the vessels having to seek shelter in Plymouth and Falmouth, in southwest England. They were eventually discharged at Seaforth Docks for modifications before being towed to the rig site around theSeafox 1 so that construction could start.
