Aker to supply MEG facility to Ichthys offshore LNG project

Technip has contracted Aker Solutions to supply a MEG reclamation facility for the West Australia Ichthys LNG project.

OSLO, Norway –Technip has contracted Aker Solutions to supply a MEG reclamation facility for the West Australia Ichthys LNG project.  The $79.6 million contract includes system engineering and supply of key equipment The MEG reclamation plant will be on the FPSO built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in South Korea.

Management, engineering, and procurement of the project will be carried out at Aker Solutions' offices in Oslo, Norway, with support from the Aker Solutions office in Perth, Australia.

Gas from theIchthys field, in the Browse basin approximately 200 km (124 mi) offshore of Western Australia, will undergo preliminary processing offshore to remove water and extract condensate. The gas will then be exported to onshore processing facilities in Darwin via an 889 km (552 mi) subsea pipeline.
