Technip wins Ichthys FPSO topsides design

PARIS – Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has contracted Technip (Paris:TEC) for the detailed engineering and procurement assistance on the topsides for the Ichthys FPSO.

Natural gas from the Ichthys field offshore Australia will be processed offshore to remove water and condensate. The gas will go 889 km (552 mi) via subsea pipeline to Darwin for LNG conversion and the condensate will be stored in the 1.2 MMbbl capacity FPSO for shuttle taker loading. The field itself if 200 km (124 mi) offshore Western Australia in 250 m (820 ft) of water.
