Salamander spuds well in the Gulf of Thailand

LONDON – Salamander Energy plc has started drilling the Bualuang Far East 1 wildcat offshore in the Gulf of Thailand block B8/38.

The location is 7 km (4 mi) northeast and updip of Bualuang oil field. Targeted TVD is 1,432 m subsea and the T5 Miocene sandstone and secondarily the underlying Permian Ratburi carbonate and T4 Miocene sandstone stratigraphic trap.

The Ensco-53 is drilling the well in which Salamander has 100% interest.
