Qatargas commissions offshore pipeline isolation service

Offshore staff

DOHA, Qatar – Qatargas has awarded STATS Group a 10-year contract to provide remote pipeline isolation equipment.

STATS will design, manufacture, test, and supply a new range of high integrity Remote Tecno Plugs for 32-in., 34-in., and 38-in. (81-cm, 86-cm, and 96-cm) pipelines.

The Remote Tecno Plugs will provide positive isolation at the required location and ensure safe conditions for quick repairs to subsea pipelines in the event of damage.

The equipment will form part of Qatargas’ Emergency Pipeline Repair System for production facilities in the offshore North field, from where gas and condensate is transported through pipelines to Ras Laffan City for export.

STATS also will provide call-out services to maintain the equipment in a state of readiness and field personnel to assist in any system deployment.
