MOSCOW – Lukoil Engineering and Schlumberger have jointly opened the Center of Geologic Exploration Technologies (CGET) in Moscow.

The center was established to prepare and integrate studies of promising assets in Lukoil’s license areas using advanced geological exploration technologies and equipment supplied by Schlumberger.

According to Lukoil, this, along with hardware and software support, should enhance the reliability of the assets’ geological models, including forecasts of its oil and gas potential, thereby reducing geological risks and uncertainties.

CGET employs specialists from both companies in exploration with solid background in developing field geological models, quantitative appraisal of reservoirs and their properties, and exploration project support.

Initially, the CGET will operate in Lukoil’s license areas in western Siberia and others owned by Lukoil Overseas Holding. Later, its scope of studies will be extended to cover all regions where the company has a presence.
