Eidesvik contracts newbuild subsea operations vessel

BØMLO, Norway – Eidesvik has contracted Kleven Maritime to build a subsea operations vessel for 1 billion NOK ($164.5 million) to be delivered in 2Q 2014.

The arctic-capable vessel will be 145 m long and 31 m in beam with both 400 metric ton and 100 metric ton cranes.

The design was developed by Eidesvik in cooperation with SALT Ship Design and Kleven.

Eidesvik has an option on a sister vessel for delivery in 2015.
