Songa orders two semis from DSME

SEOUL, South Korea – Songa Offshore has contracted Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to build two semisubmersible drilling rigs for a total of $1.1 billion.

The rigs will be built at Okpo for delivery by May 2015.

Songa says it already has leased the rigs to Statoil for eight years to drill in the North Sea and Arctic.
