The first well will appraise last September’sZaedyus-1 discovery, test deeper objectives, and will be followed by an exploration wildcat well.

OperatorShell also plans to acquire two large 3D seismic surveys - a 4,700-sq km (1,814-sq mi) Eastern Slope survey and a 620-sq km (239-sq mi) Cebus survey over either side of the Cingulata fan system containing Zaedyus and other mapped turbidite fans.

Tullow is a partner in another ongoing well,Jaguar-1, which started drilling offshore Guyana in February, and is scheduled to be completed this summer.

In Suriname offshore block 47, a 3,000-sq km (1,158-sq mi) 3D program should get under way later this month.
