HOUSTON– Empirica has introduced Dual Flame Ionised Detection (Dual FID) technology and Live Logging at the Offshore Technology Conference. Dual FID technology is a high-speed chromatograph, and Live Logging is a real-time cloud-based system that allows operators and geologists to interact with wells from any computer or device anywhere during the drilling process.

The 36-second chromatograph equates to more sampling per foot at a fast rate of penetration and can help differentiate laminated sands and low resistivity pay.

Live Logging is the first system to capture the human component of surface logging because it allows geologists to interact with the personnel at the well site and provides access to static data instantaneously. This provides a full picture of what is happening on the rig, enabling operators to make better decisions about their asset.
