LONDON– Rolls-Royce has won a $136-million order to supply compression equipment for the Dolphin gas project offshore and onshore the Arabian Peninsula.

The company will provide three new industrial Trent gas turbines, each rated at 52 MW, in addition to the six all ready in use. These will be manufactured in Montreal, and Mount Vernon, Ohio.

The Dolphin Energy-operated project transports natural gas fromQatar to the UAE and Oman via a 364-km (226-mi) subsea pipeline.

Rolls-Royce’s previous six Trent turbines entered service in 2006 at Dolphin Energy’s gas processing plant in Ras Laffan, Qatar. Those turbines have recorded more than 150,000 operating hours.
