ESBJERG, Denmark – Maersk FPSO has awarded Ramboll Oil & Gas an engineering, procurement, and construction contract for the Maersk Inspirer jackup.

The project involves enhancements to the rig, which Maersk FPSO is operating for Statoil in the Norwegian North Sea. The rig’s well capacity will increase to accommodate a new production well, a water injection well, and possibly two additional wells.

Ramboll’s responsibilities include detailed design of four wells, fabrication and installation, procurement of equipment and materials, and an extension of the existing ABB control system and the wellhead control panel.

Work should be completed by end-2013.
