Finesse booked for Iraq platform floatover

ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – Saipem has contracted Fairstar Heavy Transport to provide floatover and installation services for a platform offshore Iraq.

Fairstar’s new 50,000 dwt semisubmersible vessel Finesse will transport the 8,000-metric ton (8,818-ton) CMMP platform from the fabrication yard in Karimun, Indonesia, to the Persian Gulf during the second half of 2013.

Another Fairstar vessel, Fjord, is scheduled to load the first modules for the Gorgon project for transport to Barrow Island, northwest Australia later this month.
