LONDON -- EnQuest has increased its interest in two UK offshore discoveries and one field under development.

The company has participated in UK block 16/2 b containing the Cairngorm discovery since 2010, following itsacquisition of Stratic Energy. Under the same transaction, it picked up 10% of five F-Quad blocks in the Dutch North Sea.

Now Cairngorm has agreed to acquire Sterling Resources’ 50% interest in UK block 16/3d, which houses an extension of Cairngorm, in exchange for the F-Quad stakes. The area is north of the Marathon-operated Brae complex in the central North Sea.

Assuming regulatory approval, EnQuest will become outright owner of the 16/3d license, having picked up 50% under the UK’s 26th licensing round.

In the northern North Sea, EnQuest has agreed to take a further 15% stake in the Kraken heavy oil discovery from Nautical Petroleum – assuming shareholder approval, this would lift its total interest to 60%. Nautical is currentlytransferring operatorship to EnQuest.

Finally, EnQuest has completed acquisition of an additional 18.5% in the producing West Don field in the far north of the UK sector.

As for the company’s ongoing development projects in this region, the Dons S10 well is nearing completion and the rig will then start a side track of the S1 well.

At Thistle, theDeveron P1 well has been completed with production exceeding expectations, and a workover has been conducted to replace the pump in the A56 well.  The Thistle platform power generation upgrade project should start up at around year-end, with the gas turbine having completed factory testing.

At the Heather platform, work continues to renovate the drilling rig on. Drilling operations should start this fall.

EnQuest’sAlma/Galia development is on schedule for start-up during 4Q 2013, with batch drilling under way on the first three wells.

The project’s FPSOEnQuest Producer is in the Blohm and Voss yard in Hamburg, Germany, undergoing destruct work. Main procurement contracts have all been completed
