ShawCor Ltd. has won the OTC Spotlight Award for its simulated service vessel. The company says the vessel is the industry’s largest and most advanced deepwater test chamber for end-to-end thermal insulation systems. The vessel is capable of simulating water depths to 3,000 m (9,842 ft) and temperatures up to 180°C (356°F). With real-time data acquisition, the SSV validates the long-term integrity of any subsea insulation system.
