Islay-Alwyn tieback onstream in North Sea

Total (NYSE:TOT;Paris:FP FP) has brought the Islay field onto production in the UK northern North Sea, 440 km (273 mi) northeast of Aberdeen.

PARIS –Total (NYSE:TOT;Paris:FP FP) has brought the Islay field onto production in the UK northern North Sea, 440 km (273 mi) northeast of Aberdeen.

Islay, discovered in mid-2008, is in block 3/15 in the UK sector, but also extends into Norwegian blocks 29/6a and 29/6c. Water depth is 120 m (393 ft).

Total estimates reserves at close to 17 MMboe. The field is already producing at its peak level of 15,000 boe/d.

Islay’s wells are connected to theAlwyn North platform via existing subsea installations. The project will help prolong the life of the Alwyn North facilities.
