Energy Drilling orders two self-erecting drill tender barges

SINGAPORE – Energy Drilling Pte. Ltd. has contracted COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard Co. Ltd. to build two self-erecting drilling tender barges at $200 million for delivery in 2Q 2014. The agreement carries an option for two added barges.

The vessels will have heavy-lift cranes with safe work loads of 400 metric tons (441 tons) and will be designed for quick moves from platform to platform and for operations in waters to 700 ft with its own mooring and as much as 6,000 ft with prelaid moorings.
