Wintershall recruits GSP for Dutch North Sea program

Wintershall Noordzee has awarded Grup Servicii Petroliere (GSP) two contracts for work in the Dutch North Sea.

CONSTANTA, Romania – Wintershall Noordzee has awarded Grup Servicii Petroliere (GSP) two contracts for work in the Dutch North Sea.

The rigGSP Saturn, presently based off Tunisia, will transfer north to the Dutch sector where it should start drilling operations for Wintershall in May. GSP Saturn recently underwent extensive upgrading and reclassification project at the GSP Shipyard in Romania.

The contractor will also supply theGSP Falcon to install a 10-in. (25-cm) 30-km (18.6-mi) offshore pipeline for Wintershall. This is designed to re-route production from the existing Q4-C platform and will tie into the 10-in. pipeline that currently connects the Q8-A platform to Ijmuiden on the Dutch west coast.

GSP Falcon should mobilize to the North Sea in June and, after completion of the pre-lay survey, will perform pipelay operations.
