ZUG, Switzerland– Transocean has opened a training center in Macaé, Brazil.

Located in Macaé‘s busiest industrial center, the center features six classrooms, meeting rooms, state-of-the-art simulators for drilling, well control and crane operations, staff offices, a cafeteria and other facilities.

The company says for the first time in Brazil, Transocean personnel will be able to take drilling and crane operations competency assessment classes, D-CAP and C-CAP, using simulators onshore, in addition to offshore assessments.

In 2013, the company plans to install a new cyber-based drilling simulator to train drillers and assistant drillers who work on the latest-generations of offshore drilling rigs.
