WOKING, UK – The semisubmersible Sedco 711 drilling rig will shortly spud the Orchid exploration well in the central UK North Sea for Summit Petroleum.
According to partnerValiant Petroleum, the well on block 29/1c is designed to penetrate a dual target, four-way dip closure at Tertiary and Chalk level with prospective resources of 30 MMboe.
Drilling should take 35-40 days to complete.
