Statoil brings in semi for North Sea support

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved the use of the accommodation semisubmersible vessel Floatel Superior on Oseberg Sør in the North Sea.

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved the use of the accommodation semisubmersible vessel Floatel Superior on Oseberg Sør in the North Sea.

The consent applies from March 20 through Aug. 10, 2012.

Operator Statoil (OSE:STL, NYSE:STO) needs to accommodate extra personnel during a period of high activity in theOseberg area. It will be connected to the Oseberg Sør complex via a gangway.

Floatel Superior was built two years ago by Keppel FELS Shipyard in Singapore. It is operated by Gothenburg-based Floatel International.
