LONDON – Premier Oil will plug and abandon the Bluebell exploration well in the UK central North Sea, after failing to find hydrocarbons.

The 15/24c-10 well in block 15/24 encountered the Palaeocene target on prognosis; however logs revealed that the sands were water wet.

Next up for Premier in this region are exploration wells on the Stingray and Carnaby prospects, both due to spud early in April.

The Stingray well in block 15/13b will test a Mesozoic play on the northern margin of the central North Sea. The Carnaby well will target Eocene reservoirs on theCatcher acreage in block 28/9.
