Offshore staff
LONDON – Chariot Oil & Gas Ltd (AIM:CHAR) subsidiary Enigma Oil & Gas (Pty) Ltd. has contracted A.P. Moller Maersk A/S to drill one well offshore Namibia with the Maersk Deliverer deepwater semisubmersible rig.
The rig is expected on location by the end of this month to begin drilling the Tapir South prospect 80 km (50 mi) offshore Namibia in 2,108 m (6,916 ft) water depth.
Tapir South is in Chariot’s Northern block 1811A and farm-out efforts are on-going.
A second exploration well, Kabeljou-1, is expected to be drilled in Chariot’s Southern block, 2714A, on the Nimrod prospect in the second half of 2012.
After that, and following the interpretation of Chariot’s recently acquired 3,500 sq km (1,351sq mi) of3D seismic data in its Central blocks, the remainder of its initial drilling program will be determined and further wells planned for 2013.
