Halliburton charters Island Offshore stimulation vessel for Clipper South

Halliburton has chartered Island Offshore’s new well stimulation vessel Island Captain for a two-month firm contract.

STAVANGER, Norway – Halliburton has chartered Island Offshore’s new well stimulation vessel Island Captain for a two-month firm contract. It will be operate on RWE Dea’s Clipper South gas field in the UK southern North Sea.

This is Island’s third well stimulation vessel, with a fourth due to enter operation in January 2013.

Island has also entered into a contract with the STX OSV Brevik yard to build a UT 737 CD-design subsea support vessel. It will be 96 m (315 ft) long, with a 21-m (69 ft) beam and with accommodation for around 70 personnel.

Equipment will include handling systems for two work ROVs and a 125-ton active heave-compensated subsea crane. The vessel should be delivered in February 2014.
