MOSCOW – Gazprom has completed preparation of project documents for Phase 1 of its Southern Corridor gas transmission system (GTS).

This involves construction of new overland pipelines taking gas through southern Russia, with some of the supplies passing through the plannedSouth Stream pipeline in the Black Sea.

Phase 1 of the Southern Corridor GTS will start in December and should be completed in 2015, in parallel with the launch of the South Stream first stage.

It involves construction of an 834-km (518-mi) pipeline between the Pisarevka compressor station (CS) in the Voronezh Oblast, close to the border with Ukraine, and the Russkaya CS in the Krasnodar Krai on the Russian Black Sea coast.
