Faroe receives clearance for exploration well offshore Norway

Faroe Petroleum has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for exploration drilling in the Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, Norway –Faroe Petroleum has permission from the NorwegianPetroleum Directorate for exploration drilling in the Norwegian North Sea.

TheMaersk Guardian will drill well in production license 440 S, which was awarded to Faroe in 2007 under Norway’s APA 2006 licensing round. It comprises the northern part of block 2/8. 

The well location is around 11 km (6.8 mi) north of the BP-operated Valhall field.
