CALGARY, Canada –First oil is flowing from Usan field into its FPSO offshore West Africa, says Nexen Inc. (TSX, NYSE: NXY).
Theultimate production rate depends on factors including ramp-up, well additions, and well performance. The FPSO has a production capacity of 180,000 b/d and a storage capacity of 2 MMbbl.
Usan is in block OML138 about 100 km (62 mi) southeast of the Nigerian coast.
Co-venturers on Usan are Total E&P Nigeria Ltd (the operator with a 20% interest), Chevron Petroleum Nigeria Ltd (30%), Nexen Inc. (20%), and Esso E&P Nigeria (Offshore East) Ltd (30%).
